What is recorded here

Castlehill is a roman distance slab in East Dunbartonshire, Scotland, marked on the national record at a point accurate to the nearest ten metres. It may have shown a travelled distance to someone walking a roman road, yet no surviving sentence preserves the place named at the other end. The stone still does what it was made to do: it holds a measurement in stone instead of memory.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castlehill as Distance Slab (roman). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
