Castlehill is an Inverness residential area where Castlehill House still stands beside Culloden Road. Tradition holds King Kenneth I granted the land to the Cuthbert family in the 950s, and older earthworks may preserve Neolithic life from roughly the fourth millennium BC. The hill has therefore carried settlement, memory and change long before its present streets.
