Castlehill, Dumfries and Galloway is an Iron Age settlement where people lived before written history, though the exact character of that daily life has faded. It may have held a small cluster of homes, a shared fire pit or a trading path along the land, but no surviving account preserves those choices. The name still points to human presence long before modern boundaries, and that absence is what makes the place memorable.
