Castledykes, Eastern Annexes are Roman fort annexes in South Lanarkshire, still marked by earthworks rather than grand stone. They served the military supply line, likely housing workers, stores or animals that kept the main fort alive. The land may have smelled of dung, smoke and wet wool, with hands busy from dawn until dark.
