Castlecreavie 3

Cup and Ring Marked Rock (neolithic) - (bronze Age)

What is recorded here

Castlecreavie 3 is a Neolithic and Bronze Age cup and ring marked rock in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. Hands may have pressed cups into the stone while ring marks spiralled outward like water dropping into a quiet pool. The rock still holds that pressure, waiting for someone to read the shape before explanation.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castlecreavie 3 as Cup and Ring Marked Rock (neolithic) - (bronze Age). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
