What is recorded here

Castlecraig began as a temporary Roman camp in the Scottish Borders, proving that even imperial armies needed somewhere to rest their boots before marching onward. Centuries later the same ground produced a mansion for asthma children and now a recovery house where desperate people learn to breathe again. The camp disappeared, the buildings changed hands, and the human need for relief remained constant beneath the stone.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castlecraig as Temporary Camp (roman). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
