What is recorded here

Castlebrae is a working farmstead in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, first drawn on maps as a C-shaped steading with a horsemill attached to the west wing. The platform remains visible beside the roofed buildings, preserving the shape of work done before engines replaced horse muscle. It is not a ruined curiosity but a lived place where the old geometry still guides the hands of whoever tends it.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castlebrae as Farmhouse (period Unassigned), Farmstead (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
