What is recorded here
Rowycahan castle stood in Kiltartan when Tege Oachane held it in 1574, but no one has marked its stones since. It may have been a tower house, a curtain wall or a farmstead with a guardroom; the names survived while the shape forgot itself. Kiltartan keeps that kind of placeholder, a castle reduced to a knot in a list.
Nolan (1901, 114) records that the castle of 'Rowycahan' in the barony of Kiltartan was in the possession of 'Tege Oachane' in 1574. Not located.
