In Oldcastle, County Mayo, an unclassified castle keeps its own counsel while official records remain empty. The land may hold a chamber, a courtyard or a buried gate, but human memory has not yet given the stones a name. What is missing is not nothing; it is a invitation to walk the ground and ask what the soil remembers.
