David Miagh’s Castle stood on John’s St in Kilmallock, a three-floored building with two rooms on the ground and first floors and one room on the third. The town wall bounded the end of its garden, marking the edge of private land and public street. Whether it was a home, a watch post or a merchant’s seat remains unknown, but its shape suggests someone lived there with confidence, looking out over the road and the wall beyond.

The precise location of David Miagh’s Castle on John’s St has not been identified. Described in the Urban Survey (Bradley et. al. 1989, 152) as following; 'A three-floored building on the east of the street with two rooms on both the ground and first floors, and one room on the third.
