Castle Stewart Burn

Field System (period Unassigned)

What is recorded here

Castle Stewart Burn marks a forgotten field system in Dumfries and Galloway, its boundaries still visible beneath grass and rain. The land may have fed horses, people or both before records appeared. A burn running through old boundaries suggests life continued there long before measurement arrived.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castle Stewart Burn as Field System (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
