What is recorded here
Inishmacowney is an unclassified castle site in County Clare, Ireland. The island holds a lost castle, perhaps a tower house or a fortress, but no clear description survives. The sea may have taken it, or time may have erased it. What remains is a place name pointing to a building that no longer answers.
