What is recorded here

Castelterry is a vanished castle on a south-facing Cork slope beside a stream, reduced to waste ground and memory. A house still stood near the site when the Down Survey mapped the barony in 1655-6, suggesting the castle had already surrendered its identity to ordinary life. The land keeps no stone marker, only the chance that water, soil and forgetting completed what siege or abandonment began.
