Castle Roy is a rectangular stone keep built around 1200 by Clan Comyn near Nethy Bridge. It watched trade routes and fertile Highland land until political defeat moved its loyalty to Clan Grant. Its empty arches still point toward the Cairngorms, preserving the moment when regional power changed hands.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castle Roy as No Class (event) (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
