Roughan Castle stands in County Tyrone as a post-medieval ruin, still marked on official maps and protected under State Care. Its stones have watched the land through centuries of change, perhaps guarding a gate, perhaps marking a boundary no longer drawn. What remains is enough to prove it existed and mattered, even if the names of its keepers have thinned into silence.
