Castle Rising is a Norman castle and church complex in Norfolk, England, founded in the early 12th century. The castle features a remarkable square stone keep set within multiple defensive earthwork enclosures, representing one of the finest examples of Norman military architecture from the reign of Henry I. The associated church of St. Lawrence, an 11th and 12th century structure, demonstrates the ecclesiastical provision typical of major Norman lordly establishments.
