Castle of Park rose in 1590 when Thomas Hay of Park and Janet Macdowell began work on the first day of March, creating a formidable tower house above the Water of Luce. The plain stone structure towers over the ridge like a forgotten sentinel, preserving the austere grandeur of its medieval origins even after later wings vanished. Its bare walls and grand scale still command the landscape, waiting for human life to return through its ancient doors.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castle of Park as Farmstead (post Medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
