Castle of Hallforest — Report the wrong picture

Hallforest is a four-storey tower house built for Robert Keith, Great Marischal of Scotland, after Robert Bruce granted him Kintore forest land in 1309. Its thick granite walls still rise twenty metres beside Kintore, preserving vaulted chambers and a retracted ladder entrance that kept intrgers out during turbulent medieval years. The castle fell into decay only when the first Earl of Kintore built Keith Hall in 1665, leaving behind a quiet stone monument to Scottish nobility and survival.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castle of Hallforest as Castle (medieval), Tower House (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The Castle of Hallforest was a medieval tower house, likely built during the late 14th or 15th century by a local landholding family in the Scottish Borders region. It is remembered as an example of the defensive architecture used during a period of frequent conflict between Scotland and England.
