What is recorded here

Castle Mill stands in the Scottish Borders as a medieval grinding stone, its exact position marked to the nearest metre. It may have fed a nearby castle or simply served the village, turning local grain into flour while people watched the water turn its gears. The mill no longer appears on modern maps as a working building, but it remains a useful marker of how people once lived beside moving water.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castle Mill as Mill (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
