Castle Law is a modern observation post on a Scottish hill, yet the name evokes an ancient promise that a home remains a castle even when its walls are thin. The hill has probably watched people defend what they loved, measure distance, or simply resist the claim that ownership requires stone and lock. Its modern purpose is to observe, but the older meaning still circulates: a small place can be the last refuge of the person inside it.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castle Law as Observation Post (modern). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
