What is recorded here
Castle Knowe Motte in Leuchars holds a copper spindle whorl, small enough to fit inside a cupped palm yet heavy enough to pull thread into rope, cloth or tether. That tiny disc turns a mundane room into a working house, suggesting someone sat near the knowe, twisting fibre into something that could bind or build. The mound may have watched that labour for generations, steady above the Fife fields while hands moved in darkness or rain.
