Castle Hotel, High Street (Site of)

What is recorded here

Castle Hotel occupied the High Street during the Post Medieval period, serving travellers who needed warmth and food before continuing their journey. Its rooms likely echoed with cart wheels, foreign tongues and the smell of wet wool. The building has vanished, but the street still remembers the shape of its doors and the pull of its hearth.
The National Monuments Record of Wales records Castle Hotel, High Street (Site of) as House; Hotel from the Post Medieval period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
