What is recorded here
Castle Hill is a prehistoric settlement in the Scottish Borders, marked on the official map to within ten metres. The exact boundary remains unclear, but the land itself still carries the weight of ancient occupation. People may have built shelters, raised fires or watched the horizon from that rise before written history existed. The hill does not need a modern explanation because human life already shaped it.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castle Hill as Settlement (prehistoric). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
