What is recorded here

Castle Hill in Laughton-en-le-Morthen still holds two buried lines that resisted easy explanation until trenches cut through the soil in April 2019. The dig confirmed their shape and orientation but withheld their age, leaving the hill neither fully exposed nor safely dismissed. It is the kind of place that remembers being a castle while refusing to say when, keeping its edge sharp enough to cut through certainty.
Castle Hill is shown as a archaeological place on the public map of Rotherham. The saved point is the map point or the centre of its mapped shape.
