Castle Hill, Newmilns

Mound (period Unassigned)

What is recorded here

Castle Hill rises above Newmilns as an unassigned mound, perhaps marking a lost fortress or a forgotten burial ground. Its exact purpose has faded, but the shape remains clear on the land. A person may have stood on that hill centuries ago, looking out across the same fields and wondering whether the view would still exist. The mound still answers that question, keeping its secret intact.
