Castle Greg is a preserved Roman fortlet in West Lothian, Scotland, where two deep ditches and a rectangular rampart still mark a small military base beside the B7008. During the first century AD, sentinels likely watched the east-west road beneath the Pentlands from a wooden tower, seeing as far as the Fife coastline before trees closed that horizon. The name may descend from Camulosessa Præsidium, linking the stones to the old village of Camulos and reminding that even a modest guardpost belonged to a much larger imperial reach.
