Castle Farm is a red-harled Italian villa quadrangle built for Gordon Castle in 1828, where mirrored houses flank an archway and long barns surround quiet courts. It was designed to be unrivalled in the north, grand enough to tempt a clock tower that never rose. The kennels and byres still stand, gutted and reused, preserving the shape of a estate that believed farmwork could be elegant.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castle Farm as Dovecot (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
