Castle Douglas, Whitepark Hill

Observation Post (20th Century) (1961)-(1991)

What is recorded here

Whitepark Hill held a watchful post from 1961 to 1991, casting a narrow beam over the Galloway dark. Men stood inside a small room while the land slept, waiting for lights that never came or reading shapes the air refused to explain. The hill keeps that patience still, turning ordinary darkness into a chamber where human eyes must remain sharp.
