What is recorded here

Castle Cary Station sits one mile north of the market town, forcing travellers to walk or wait for a bus before they reach the shops and inns that give the place its name. That small distance separates railway convenience from town life, yet it also preserves the village from becoming a crowded transit depot. The station remains useful because it serves Glastonbury Festival, the Royal Bath and West Showground and the city of Wells, which lost its own rail connection in 1963.
