Castell Malgwyn is a Georgian farmhouse built around 1795 for Sir Benjamin Hammet on the south bank of the Teifi. Hammet bought the estate to control nearby tinplate works, closed the old road through his land, and built bridges to force traffic around his property. The house passed through several owners, became a hotel, and now works as a guest house beside gardens still recognised for their historic landscape.
