Cashelnaclogherny Stone Fort — Report the wrong picture

Cashelnaclogherny is a ruined oval stone fort in County Donegal, measuring thirty metres across and perched just south of a hilltop overlooking the western sea. Two straight walls cut off the northwest quadrant while three low lintels span an eight-metre gap to the northeast, hinting at a hidden underground passage. The northern wall has nearly vanished into the rock outcrop, leaving the structure exposed to weather and time. People may have stood inside this circle watching storms roll in from the ocean, knowing the stones would outlast their own lives.

Named 'Cashelnaclogherny' on the OS 6-inch map. Internal diam. c. 30m NW-SE, c. 26m NE-SW. An oval area enclosed by a ruined stone wall originally c. 1.4m wide. The wall has almost totally disappeared to the N. The NW quadrant of the site is cut off by two straight walls at right angles running from near the centre, to the cashel wall. An 8m gap to the NE is presently spanned by three lintels 0.4m above ground level. These lintels may be the remains of a possible Man-made underground passage (DG015-011001-). The site is located in an exposed position just S of a hilltop overlooking the sea to the W, in an area of light pasture and rock outcrop.
