What is recorded here

Dunavarre stood in East Torr as a cashel until destruction removed its walls, leaving only a map point to mark the loss. The name still belongs to the place even though the structure no longer answers it. What remains is a gap shaped like a building, waiting for someone to remember the form that disappeared.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as CASHEL (destroyed): DUNAVARRE. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
