Carns is a passage tomb in Carrowkeel (tirerrill By., Templevanny Ed), County Sligo, Ireland. It is a damaged round cairn on a mountain ridge, positioned 10 metres west of another passage tomb and 400 metres north of a third. The site shows humps, hollows and a northern hole from examinations conducted in 1911, while a small set stone remains exposed near the centre.
This is a National Monument in State care (no. 518). Carn L in the Carrowkeel-Kesh Corann passage tomb cemetery. On a mountain ridge, 10m W of another passage tomb (SL040-093----) and c. 400m N of a third passage tomb (SL040-101----). This is a damaged round cairn (diam. c. 18m; H 1.5m), its perimeter peat-grown. Disturbance is indicated by humps and hollows on the top of the cairn and there is a hole (c. 3m x 2m; D 1m) towards its northern edge. The disturbances may be the result of 'several examinations' conducted at the site in 1911 after which it was decided 'it would not repay investigation' (Macalister, Armstrong and Praeger 1912, 330). A small stone (L 0.55m; T 0.08m; H 0.85m) is exposed in a slight hole in the top of the cairn just N of centre. It appears to be a set stone. (Ó Nualláin 1989, 83)
