Why this matters

Neolithic passage tomb; dates to the earlier part of the Neolithic period in Ireland (c. 3700–2500 BC). Its location on a prominent hill summit suggests ritual or ceremonial significance, typical of Neolithic funerary monuments in the region.

What is recorded here

Prominently situated on the summit of Keeraunnageeragh (1009 ft OD). An oval cairn of small granite stones (NE-SW c. 19.7m, H 3.2m) much disturbed on NE side and at centre where there is a depression.
