What is recorded here

Carlesgill stands in Dumfries and Galloway as a medieval tower house, yet the same name later marked a small tileworks near Langholm where half a dozen labourers pressed clay through summer days. The tower may have watched that valley for centuries before people forgot its shape, while the tile shed came and went like a season. Together they suggest a place where strength and usefulness kept turning over each other, with human hands constantly remaking what the land already provided.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Carlesgill as Tower House (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
