Canonbie Priory

Canonbie Priory was a medieval Cistercian priory founded in the 12th century, likely linked to the nearby Canonbie Holy Well, which is associated with Saint Bieu or Saint Beu, a 7th-century Irish saint. The well was traditionally visited for healing and as a site of pilgrimage, with customs including the leaving of coins and prayers for health and protection.
