What is recorded here
The public map records Candia as a wreck.
Candia was a 17th-century merchant vessel, likely of Venetian origin. It was lost around 1620 near the coast of what is now Croatia, during a storm that caused the ship to founder with its cargo of wine and textiles; no lives were lost. The wreck remains significant as an example of early 17th-century Mediterranean trade networks.
A wreck point does not grant access or permission to dive, enter land, disturb the site or recover anything. Check current law and local conditions first.
