Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Calf of Eday, North West as Chambered Cairn (neolithic). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Neolithic chambered cairn; dates to the earlier part of the Neolithic period in Orkney, around 3500–3000 BCE. It is significant as part of a broader network of Neolithic monuments in the Orkney Islands, reflecting early communal burial and ritual practices.
