What is recorded here

Caisteal Maol is a ruined MacKinnon tower house on a Skye rock, dated after 1490 through a saved pine joist. Its thick basalt walls still rise beside Kyleakin, preserving the shape of a home that watched ferries, weather and rival claims. The castle is gone only in roof and room, not in presence; its corners still occupy the shoreline like a remembered argument.
Caisteal Maol is shown as a castle on the public map of Highland. The saved point is the map point or the centre of its mapped shape.
