Cairnknowe

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Cairnknowe as Building (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Cairnknowe is a Neolithic chambered cairn, dating to the late fourth to third millennium BCE. It is significant as an example of early communal burial and ritual practice in southern Scotland.
