What is recorded here

Carron Mountain and Little Carron stand on the Cork Limerick boundary, carrying two stone cairns separated by 235m. The larger measures 14m across and rises 1.64m with steep sides, while the smaller presents a 5m flat top partially hidden beneath grass and heather. Neither is recorded as burial, marker or offering, leaving their purpose suspended in the upland air. Five other mounds appear along the same boundary, but they are recent. The older two remain without explanation, watching the line between counties from above it.
