What is recorded here

Cairn is a unclassified Irish landmark in County Carlow, Ireland. The field still holds a five-metre round mound, two western boulders and a faint southern kerb. Those marks may have guided people, marked a loss or simply belonged to the land before written memory.

The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Remnant of cairn (present diam. c. 5m), with traces of possible kerb visible S-W. Two large boulders visible at W, may be structural.
