What is recorded here

Half a mile north of the car park, a shallow depression in the grass marks the vanished chamber. Step inside the broken ring and the rock leans inward like a listening mouth. The chamber is gone, but its shape still presses against the hill. What it held has long since returned to the earth, leaving behind a hollow that remembers the weight of being hidden.

Situated in Thorn Chase valley between Heath Hill in the S and Tinians Hill in the N. It overlooks Seal Hole in the E. Restricted view to the W. It is grass covered with cairn material visible in the E. There are no kerbstones evident (diam. 14m, H 0.95m). It has a steeper profile on the N face than the S. A Neolithic cairn; date uncertain but likely early to middle Neolithic. Its location suggests possible ritual or funerary significance within a landscape of natural and ceremonial features.
