What is recorded here

Cairn is an oval stone heap on a south-facing slope above the Glantrasna River, standing 0.7m high with grass creeping across its top while the edge remains bare. It is not a chamber tomb or marked grave in the published description, only a cairn of loose stones in rough hill pasture, with a second cairn twenty-one metres to the south-west. That much is known. What it marked, when it was built, and whether it belongs to a field boundary, a memory, a warning or a buried life has not been recorded. The valley below is still visible from the stones, which means whatever was placed there could still be seen doing it.

In rough hill pasture, on a S-facing slope, overlooking the valley of the Glantrasna River. An oval cairn (3.1m E-W; 2.2m N-S; H 0.7m) of loose stones, the upper surface of which is partially grass-covered. The perimeter is clearly exposed. Another cairn (KE109-001008-) is c. 21m to the SSW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
