What is recorded here
Half a metre high and four and a half across, the cairn sits on a south-east slope above the Dromoghty valley, its centre dented like a cup waiting for rain. Grass has taken the eastern edge, as if the hillside is slowly swallowing what hands once stacked. It is not grand, but it is deliberate: a small ring of stones placed where the land can be seen, remembered, and returned to.
In rough hill pasture and cutaway bog, on a SE-facing slope, overlooking the valley of the Dromoghty River. A circular cairn (diam. 4.4m; H 0.4m) of stones varying in size and shape. There is a slight depression in the centre of the cairn and part of the SE quadrant is grass-covered.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

A circular cairn, likely dating to the Bronze Age, possibly serving as a funerary or ritual monument; its location and construction suggest a connection to early pastoral and ceremonial landscapes in the region.
