Cairn

Cairn, unclassified

What is recorded here

Fear Breige, the Hardy Man, still stands above Ratheniska because every passerby drops one stone onto the pile. The cairn is not a dead marker but a living agreement: witness it, feed it, and it witnesses you back.
Unlocated cairn described by H. Roe as located on the the hill above Ratheniska in the direction of Loughteague. By some people this is said to be a modern pile as anyone who passes by still places a stone on it (Roe, H. Gazeteer of Finds etc. P. 6) Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 17 December 2007

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
