What is recorded here

Twenty metres across and two metres high, the cairn sits flat-topped on a broad Clare hill, its ancient stones softened by grass and a later field wall cutting through. A cooking pit and two enclosures ring it at short distances, suggesting people gathered there to eat, keep animals, and mark the land. The shape remains clear enough to imagine hands stacking stone and bodies moving around it in daylight.

At the top of a broad hill in pasture within a large multiperiod field system (CL009-059001-). This grass-covered subcircular cairn (basal dims. 21.5m E-W; 20.6m N-S; H 2-2.4m) is quite flat topped (diam. 3-4m). A SW-NE running drystone field boundary crosses it. An older grass-covered denuded wall extends off it and runs southwards. A fulacht fia (CL009-191----) lies c. 24m to the NE and two enclosures (CL009-059073- and CL009-059074-) lie c. 85m to the SW and c. 87m to the NE respectively. A Bronze Age cairn; its location within a multiperiod field system suggests it may be part of a broader prehistoric landscape of ritual or funerary activity.
