What is recorded here
Cairn is a grass-covered ring on a low hill in County Leitrim, Ireland. Its shallow stone edge circles a nine-metre open space, breaks toward the southeast, and sits among nearby cairns and scattered stones. The completed chamber is no longer visible, but the surviving ring still marks a place where people shaped stone, memory and landscape before modern tools arrived.
Situated on a slight rise on top of a low hill with higher drumlins around it. This is a grass-covered circular area (int. diam. 9m; ext. diam. 20m) defined by a low, flat-topped, grass-covered stone spread (Wth 4.4-6m; H 0.2-0.4m), with an entrance (Wth 3.5m) at SE. The ring-cairn (LE028-003----) is c. 100m to the NE, while the stones (LE028-004----) and cairn (LE028-002----) are c. 60m to the NW and c. 85m to the NNE respectively.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J. Moore (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2003). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

A Neolithic ring-cairn; likely dates to the 4th–3rd millennium BCE. Its circular stone arrangement suggests ritual or ceremonial significance, typical of Neolithic funerary or social sites in Ireland.
