What is recorded here

In rough pasture between two knolls of outcropping rock. Low ciarn (diam. 7.5m; H 0.5m) c. 16m SE of stone row (CO094-085---). Eleven radially set stones protrude from cairn along perimeter. Stones are thin slabs, (H 0.1m- 0.3m; L up to 0.7m). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Radial-stone cairn, likely dating to the Neolithic or early Bronze Age. Its radial arrangement suggests ritual or ceremonial significance, common in prehistoric funerary or ritual landscapes of western Ireland.
