Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Cairn of Arthurhouse as Cairn (prehistoric), Cist (prehistoric), Brooch (silver)(medieval), Coin Hoard (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

A Neolithic cairn and cist, with later medieval additions including a silver brooch and coin hoard, indicating long-term ritual and domestic use of the site. Its mixed deposits highlight continuity of occupation or reverence at the location from the Neolithic to the medieval period.
